Plumber Installing A Gas Line On A Newly Installed Water Heater

A gas water heater can be used outdoors or indoors. Gas instantaneous water heaters ensure a hot shower, especially in caravans, on campsites, in holiday homes or in the garden. There are also devices that are approved for permanent indoor use.

Unlike an electronic instantaneous water heater , a gas instantaneous rv water heater, as the name suggests, runs on gas. The gas-powered ones are usually significantly larger than electronic instantaneous water heaters. It can either be connected to an existing gas line (LNG) or operated with bottled liquid gas (LPG). In comparison to the monthly costs, the gas water heater can impress with its low gas prices.

Outdoor instantaneous water heaters only need a propane gas bottle (LPG) and a garden hose to make the device ready for use. A permanent power connection is not required as the ignition is carried out by batteries.

These water heaters can be used inside, but require an exhaust pipe to the outside. They do not work with propane gas, but only with natural gas (LNG). In the interior, gas-operated instantaneous water heaters may only be connected by skilled craftsmen.

How does a gas water heater work?

In the case of a gas flow heater, a gas burner is operated, the flames of which heat the water. The gas burner is ignited either by a constantly burning pilot flame or an automatically activated piezo ignition. The water flows through tubes with lamellas, which are passed through the flames and thus heat the water.

If there is a gas line, the device can be connected to it. Otherwise, a gas instantaneous water heater can also be operated with liquefied gas from bottles. The latest gas water heaters no longer require an additional power connection, but are operated with an internal water flow generator or a battery. In the interior, a gas instantaneous water heater must be connected to a chimney .

Installation of a gas water heater

When installing a gas-powered instantaneous rv hot water heater indoors , you have to work on a gas pipe and on the exhaust gas discharge. This work may only be carried out by trained skilled craftsmen, because improper installation threatens the residents with carbon monoxide poisoning.

However, there are exceptions to many camping models: The devices that run on propane gas from a cylinder are not subject to strict regulations. This means that these devices can be used by anyone with reference to the operating instructions.
